Counselling

There can be times when we have difficulty coping, or life seems to lose it's meaning. The trigger could be memories of the past, painful events in the present or worries about the future.

Anxiety, Depression, problems with relationships bereavement, divorce and the stresses and strains of everyday life can all take their toll. At other times we can feel as though we are aimless and our life lacks purpose. it can be difficult to confide in family or friends.

In these situations, it can be helpful to talk to someone who is trained to listen without judging you or trying to influence your decision-making.

A counsellor can give you the time and space to explore your concerns, enabling you to make the changes necessary to move forward in your life.

To empower the client to have the potential to work through their issues to lead a more fulfilling life, given the right climate and therapeutic relationship. This enhances an individuals mental and physical well being. Often we experience Stress, trauma, illness and are unsure why we are unable to regain strength or why we continue in a cycle of illness and depression. When emotional needs are not met or when our resources are used incorrectly, we suffer considerable distress. When we start to look at our resources and unmet emotional needs and start activating our own natural resources in new ways we then regain mental and physical well being.

Many individuals have 'formed' themselves by trying to please others but when they are free, they move away from being this person as they have a stronger understanding of now who they truly are.

Our Counsellors

Sian Smith - Tel.07579965118

M(Ed), MBACP (Senior accredited), UKRCP

I have worked as a counsellor for the past 23 years. Through my experience of working within mental health services, staff support services and private practice I am aware that counselling can provide the tools and skills to develop a greater understanding of ourselves and our life experience and help us look at what we need.

My approach is integrative, drawing on the thinking that underpins both psychodynamic and person centred counselling practice. I specialise in areas of depression, anxiety, loss, relationship and sexuality issues. I also work with individuals whose spirituality/faith is an important part of their lives

I can offer sessions during the week in the day and Saturdays

I specialise in a wide range of issues such as anxiety, stress, low mood and depression, personal relationships, low confidence, self-esteem issues, loss and bereavement, family issues, cultural issues, personal/academic struggles whilst at university, eating issues, alcohol related difficulties, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive tendencies, phobias, and self-harm.

Greg Pyne - Tel. 07967139208
Msc. MBACP - Qualified Integrative psychotherapist

I live locally and love the kings heath area.

As an Integrative therapist I work in a way that makes the therapeutic relationship a big aspect of the therapy journey.  I bring myself to the work so the client feels connected to 'another human being'.  Ultimately though, the center of focus is of course the client, and it is my role to help them to discover aspects of their personality, and character, that have long been hidden away.  By rediscovering themselves, my clients then begin to see changes manifest in their lives, often seeing their life problems in a different way.  I strongly believe that meaning and fulfillment, is a need that we all have, and I aim to help clients find these in themselves, their relationships and lives.

Generally my training and style of therapy works well with clients who are depressed, anxious, have relational problems, as well clients who need to explore painful issues from their past.  I also work with bereavement & loss.
My specialisms clinically;
Working with hypersensitivity & the Introversion / extroversion spectrum
working with autistic clients and those on the autistic spectrum
Spirituality and existential aspects of living
